During his studies he acquired extensive knowledge on surface physics. Dr. Lorenz earned his PhD at a Max Planck Institute in Berlin. His thesis focused on catalytic processes on metal surfaces at the interface between physics and chemistry. A subsequent appointment as a research assistant took Dr. Lorenz back to England,to the University of Oxford, where he studied the interaction between polymers and semiconductor surfaces.
In 2003 he joined the firm of Gulde & Partner, specialising in national and international patent, software and IT law.
